Nice update ... it would be nice to have a real treat and to give some extra playable "Races" in a patch for those who purchased the Species Pack ... this might be a way of resurrecting this DLC and improving Stardocks reputation somewhat ... the rest of the community seem to agree with me that the DLC was particularly poor value for most players
Hey, thanks for sharing your experience with Species DLC. We are aware, that there was miscommunication on what we have promised, and what players have expected. The Species pack was always meant to add new species, which are your pops on the planet. The idea is to give players more tools to customize their own races, with the new species.
However as the term "species" is not commonly used in the game itself, many players assumed it would be a race pack DLC. This then lead to negative reception as players expectations were not met, even though the DLC provided what is was supposed to provide.
We are aware of the request to add more "races" to the game, however if those races were added to the game, it would not be part of the species DLC, as species DLC focuses on species and not races.
