Who would your 5 Dinner Guests be?

Guess who's coming to dinner...

In the spirit of Thanksgiving....If you could invite Any 5 people to sit with you and share dinner with you at your table, who would they be? (With the Exception of living family members and friends)..
and if you've heard this question before...well....share it anyway ...lol here are mine

1. Jesus- I wish I could hear in his Own words, not through translations or what ppl think he said, what his life philosophies and beliefs are.

2. Mahatma Ghandi (not sure of spelling) -how honored I would be to have a man at my table who promoted peace and finding alternate ways to solve conflicts besides war (seems very significant to me during these times); I'd like to be able to hear his beliefs as well.

3. Oprah- It's funny. I dont even watch her show regularly. But when I think of a Strong , Empowered Female, and somene who is vocal about women's rights and minority rights...well, she came to mind. Plus, I didn't want to be the only female at the table... : )

4. Conan O'Brien- I know he seems out of place on this list...lol...but I'm sure he'd keep us in stitches...plus he's my favorite tv show host...very down to earth and likable...he'd probably be the one to get laughs and talk out of us during those awkward silences...

5.My Grandfather- I lost my grandfather 22 years ago. He was a talented musician ( in a swing band and latin band, & army band) ,served in wwII. He mostly spoke Spanish, but he did have some interesting stories to tell...how nice it would be to hear him play his saxophone, clarinet, and piano again....

i hope some of you are willing to share...thought it'd be interesting to see everyone's picks

I'm not usually a blogger game guy, but honestly, I like this one.

I'm in.

1)Buddha: Having Mr Jesus sit at the table probably would clear things up something fierce for me, but I have a feeling that he'd start telling stories and the Buddha would nod his head and smile, without any pressure to speak. Dynamic is key, here.

2)A. Einstein: Dude can sleep over, too, if he needs a place. Too much brilliance, too much insight into the connection between innovation and spirit to ignore. He can sit next to me.

3)Samuel Clemens, Mr. Twain: It's too bad for the world that people like this guy have to up and die. I would love to see what he'd have to say about the way the world works these days.

4)Jason Beasley: an old friend of mine, the a$#hole. The thing I hate most about him is that I still love the f&^%)*&U^%. Old buddy of mine, Jason.

5)Janna Sugar: yeah.

1) The Buddha...because I'm Buddhist, and it would be the greatest honor.


2) The Dalai Lama...again, because I'm Budhist, but also because he has this presence to him...like he brings peace with him wherever he goes.  Again, another honor.


3) Mother Theresa ....I'd love to talk to her about humility and strength.


4) Jack Kerouac....I'd want to write haiku with him and talk about the beat era and san fran and the lunatic craziness that went on then.


5) George W Bush...because I think he could learn some things from the other 4 guests (and me!)

Okay, a little left-leaning, political, and Canadian, but:

Tommy Douglas (Canada, inventor of medicare, started the CCF (later known as the NDP), first socialist premier in North America)
Fidel Castro (so me and Tommy can talk to him about democracy and socialist ideals)
Jon Stewart (to lighten the mood)
Ed Broadbent (former leader of NDP (1975-1989), winning most seats in NDP history (43 in 1988))
James Carville (Crossfire)

And if I had room for a sixth, Hitler so we can all kick the living shit out of him, and stick him in the oven when we take the turkey out

If we count people and their kids/spouses as a single unit, then I'd invite:

Texas Wahine, so she could get out of her miserable obligation to her neighbors and have some fun
Dharmagrl, to keep TW company (and to be a charming guest as I know she would be)
Mignuna, because she would be an absolutely fabulous dinner guest all around
Gideon Macleish, because we could always count on him to come up with something to talk about in the (extremely unlikely) even conversation dies down
and LIttle Whip, just to keep things lively.

Dinner's at 2:00, bring your favorite side dish, appetizer, or dessert.

1) Erica Jong -- the writer who taught me the defintion of feminism (not through a textbook) but through the power of her poetry.

2)Christina Aguilera -- Favorite singer. We could view ugly Britney photos and laugh and laugh...

3) Anne Sexton -- confessional poet who was criticized for putting her life out there. I would enjoy to hear her views on the world today and how open our society is.

4) Bill Clinton -- Although he'd probably hit on Erica Jong and Christina, I'd want to talk to him about the Iraq war, the economy, and his opinion on the current political climate.

5) Kylie Minogue -- tongue-in-cheek pop singer. Just because she seems like she would be fun.

HH...James Joyce sounds pretty Good...and a smartass always livens up a conversation lol

Jennifer Garner - An Actress of fantastic beauty of body and mind that shines no matter what she does, who domniates the screen, who lives life fantastically from what I can tell living in a world that discourages this type of person and tries to demean them.
