When I disable the "Switch to desktop after closing a modern UI application" setting under Desktop, Advanced... it still goes to Desktop.
Anybody else is having this issue?
On Windows 8.1 the setting for going to the desktop is tied to the behaviour when a Modern UI application is closed. Microsoft changed this in between the beta of 8.1 and the RTM build.
We are investigating if we can decouple these in a future update.
Yes, I can confirm this. I would like to have an option as with the Startbutton behaviour unless in tablet mode. I would like to close the app and switch to Windows 8 Start if in tablet mode and to desktop if in laptop mode.
