I was playing an MP game last night. Me and my mate against AI. We started on opposite sides of a very large single star map so rushed phase network tech. We both got to it fairly quickly and as Rebels I also trained Shared Network. As soon as it was trained he was able to jump across to my side of the map, but whatever I tried I couldn't do the same.
We realized we actually had to get envoys to each other, raise relations and create the phase pact, which is a fairly lengthy process as relations take ages to raise, not to mention the 15-20 minutes it takes the envoys to get to his side of the map, that's if they get there at all, all the while he was able to send envoys across the phase network towards me, jump ships back and forth and otherwise use it with no problem.
The problem was I was relatively safe and doing well he on the other hand was being constantly attacked and ended up getting taken down.
My question is what's the point in this ability if you can't use it both ways? And were we doing something wrong? It seems a bit stupid to me that you can set it up for only one side of the 'team' to use. It makes much more sense for both people to use it from the start, rather than 1 person be able to and the initiator of the actual ability to have to spend most of the rest of the entire game building relations and teching enough to use the same thing.
Huge over-sight imo. what are your opinions and do you also agree that this should be fixed.
