New updates for Sins and Sins: Entrenchment

Yeah, so, i notice there are two updates, one for the entrenchment beta, and one for the original recipe sins...

im running the beta, so ive already downloaded the entrenchment update... does installing the update for the original Sins do anything/have any merit?

and id like to add that now that both downloads have installed Sins crashes before it opens, the screen goes black like its loading then windows says Sins has stopped working, no explanation nothing... yay.....

I have the same problem, sent my mini-dumps to Ironclad and they had suggested the following:

 

Hi Daimean,

 

Please excuse the delay in this reply, we have been unusually busy with the beta 2.5 patch this past week. Your minidump file suggests that you are running out of addressable virtual memory. If you have not done so already, please update to the beta 2.5 patch for Entrenchment; it includes a number of memory optimizations that should eliminate this particular type of crash problem in nearly all circumstances.

You may need to manually remove the game folder, and delete 2 Registry Keys before you'll be able to re-install. Then the install should go better.

Go to C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire (or where ever you installed the game) and delete the main folder.

Then launch the System Registry (Start-> run, and type regedit)
Look for and delete the following Keys;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.net\sins
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.net\sinsentrench

For Vista 64 bit;
HKLM>SOFTWARE>Wow6432Node>Stardock>Drengin.net>sins
HKLM>SOFTWARE>Wow6432Node>Stardock>Drengin.net>sinsentrench

Then, reboot your PC and go back to Impulse and try installing the base game. Make sure it installs to 1.13 version, test it out before then installing entrenchment.

were do i get 2.5 the inpulse is not doing it atuo
