changing colours

I bought the full version of WindowBlinds...and since there doesn't seem to be manual for it, I was wondering if someone here could tell me how to "Change color/hue/brightness on the fly." This is supposed to be a "feature" of WB full that is not present in WB trial.

["Searching Google" for help on some of these issues...as some wag suggested...is ultimately no more helpful than trial and error.]

open wb configure....look on the right, right under 'edit in skin studio' and above 'delete this skin'

Well, that's kind of misleading...no, not your response which I thank you for, but Stardock/WindowBlinds stating that one of the advanced features--and presumably one of the reasons to purchase WB--is the ability (and again, I quote) "Change color/hue/brightness on the fly." If you need Skin Studio to "Change color..." it's not really a feature of WB, is it?

Maybe there is no intention to mislead (I like WB and don't want to even entertain the idea that there is) but as a "feature" it can sure be read several ways if not the way I read it. That was one of the reasons I didn't purchase the whole Object Desktop package--that was the only "extra" I thought I might like to have.

Is the trial version of SkinStudio time limited the way the trial versions of WB and IP are?

Yes, Thanks again.

I didn't quite understand all the parts of it at first but I think I'm gonna have to fool with it a bit.

Changed CopperDeck to green then blue then back again...it's kind of surprising that it works, actually. I thought a lot of this was bitmaps and other dedicated graphics.

If you change colours, is there any chance you'll affect performance of the skin or mess it up in some way?

I've never had a problem. And no performance hit once it's loaded.

The one thing that surprised me is that ALL skins I loaded had the same color change. I thought it was a "per skin" kinda thing. I couldn't figure out why the next skin I appied looked so off from the screenshot on WC. Doh!

When changing colour you are only changing it to skin when applied, it does not change anything in the folder for skin.
When you have custom colour enabled and change skin, the new skin will be coloured according to settings.

You're not changing the skin, just applying color shifts to it.

Uncheck the change color thingy (Enable custom colour support) and all is back as it once was.

As a side note . . . that's quite the sig you have. It might make troubleshooting a little easier for folks helping you but might not be THAT neccessary.

If you're going to use it here . .I'd drop the location and add the WB version you have.
