Cannot reach Internet Multiplayer

Greetings. Yesterday, my friend were I were trying to play our weekly Sins 1 game and the Internet Multiplayer button is no longer functional for either of us. Are the servers down or something?  I left a message on the Stardock.net discord channel for sins-of-a-solar-empire but nobody responded.  Please help.  Multiplayer is still not working today.

OS version:  One of us is on Windows 11 is version 25H2.  The other is on Linux Mint 22.3 (Zena) playing through Proton.  The "Internet Multiplayer" button is unresponsive for both of us.  This just happened in the past few days.  We play weekly and nothing changed on our ends.
