For the last couple of weeks (at or about the same time as one of the major updates from MS) I've been having some stability issues that I feel is partially windows updates and partially fences
When I boot my computer it will get to the point right before it would display by desktop icons and sometimes becomes non responsive and I have to reboot.
Sometimes it gets to that point and the I get a black empty desktop (double clicking on the back ground does not reveal the icons). The Status bar will However if I open file explorer it will suddenly display my icons on my desktop.
If I get to the point my desktop icons display then computer remains stable except for two issues
1. File Explorer will crash and restart (task bar and all open file explorer windows will disapper. Sometime they will come back by themselves sometimes I have to run file explorer.
2. Right clicking on a directory bring up the right click menu for an instant and then it disappears.
Uninstalling fences fixes all of the above issues. Reinstalling and they return.
Removing the fences shellextension from the context menu handler fixes issue 2.
