I been playing around trying to get as many achievements as possible. Tonight I played single player and after the game I went to check my achievement list and lo and behold I have Space Ponies. Does anyone out there know what the requirements are for this achievement?

When you explore a planet, you will occasionally find space ponies. They are exceptionally rare, but if you find them you get the space ponies achievement. Since they don't qualify as an artifact, you may not have noticed finding them in-game.
That's probably it.

I found these without even realising it
I got space ponies when i colonized. No exploring.
Space ponies are mysterious indeed... what do they do? where do they come from? where are they going?
They are our only pray from this:
Ah Space carebears, my old nemesis. We meet again, but this time, the advantage is mine....go space ponies!
Bwahahahaha.
Well, at least now I know what that achievement is.
