First I'd like to say, that after using several different skinning programs, WB stands out as being one of the best I've used. Along with the talented artists that create the styles, cursors and objects, it makes the program an easy to use, full featured product.
But, (and of course you knew this was coming) it seems that WB has fallen into the typical software "you can only use this format with my product", giving this program a serious black eye. The .mssstyle format, though not used to make WB skins is cool, should have remained supported in this software. Reason being, is that peeps such as myself have paid good money to artists, just as I paid good money to use WB, to use their themes on our machines. No one, including the programmers of WB, simply throw away money, or appreciate when they have to calling it a sacrifice, which in my opinion isn't necessary.
Even though programs like Style XP require the use of separate "hacked" system files to import the changed themes, the variety of it's use is extremely large. Similar to the Windows OS. WB on the other hand, seems to be extremely limited to a single, .wba format (love the way it doesn't clog up the system files folder, so don't get me wrong!!) reminds me of Macintosh. A superb computer in every right, but limited to a closed in environment.
Any chance that WB will support the .msstyle format in the future? Would love to see it. (please note that I am not asking WB to support hacked system files like logonui.exe, or ntoskrnl.exes - never was a good idea)
Thanks!
