REQUEST: Draw lines for auto-pilot destinations

It would be great to see the lines drawn on the map from a ship/fleet to its auto-pilot destination. Once you get a few ships on the map, it is quite difficult to remember who is going where without the lines drawn. This used to exist in the original GalCiv 1 game. Is this feature coming in a later Beta?

This feature was available on the mini-map of GC1, but not directly on the main map. 

It'll still be an option on GC2's MM, but I would suspect there'd be alot of slowdown if we had this feature on the main map

Aww... I do second this request, even if it's not feasible/practical.

Would it be a lot of work for the devs? At least a prelinary/test version to see how it looks and functions? It could (and should) always be togglable in the options and could have a note about causing slowdown.

Furthermore, there could be options like:
Show for all ships
Show for currently selected ship
Show only when holding a keyboard key

The lines should be drawing on the minimap, but they're hard to see against the ZOC on the minimap.  I changed them to use white lines here yesterday.

It wouldn't be a lot of work to make them show on the main map, but we already show the trade routes on the main map, and I think that it would get really confusing it you had all these lines going all over the place.  It would also cause a slowdown and increase the amount of memory being used.

Maybe you could differentiate between Trade Routes and Auto-Pilot destinations using color and/or line thickness? Alternatively, could you make any of the lines pulsate or something (to make them stand out from others)?

I know this is going WAY back, but does anyone remember in MOO1 (yes, I said WAY back!) where production redirect destination lines had an effect that showed what direction the line (arrow) was travelling. It was sort of a two-tone dashed line that appeared to "move" from source to destination on the line. Is there any inexpensive way to reproduce that effect using Direct X?

I like that effect. Great game. Shame about Moo3. Anyway, I like Lord Shitzu's suggestion of holding down a key to display the auto pilot routes. Perhaps when you hold down Tab the trade routes would disappear and Auto pilot turns on? Or could it even toggle? Oh the possibilities!
