Ok, if 6,000,000 people, spread over all the time zones, suddenly all jumped at the same time, wouldn't that put basically equal pressure throughout the world, thus counteracting whatever bit of energy they all exerted against the spinning earth?
I'm no physicist, but it seems to be that basically equal energy from all sides would merely cause the Earth to be little more than a bit annoyed by the gesture. I mean, what if we just caused Mother Earth to have an itch, precisely in the one spot on her back that she can't reach without an ever so satisfying impact with whatever space matter happened to be handy?
How do we know that the beginning of the end for the Dinosaurs wasn't when they started whispering in each other's ear, "at 6:00 Zulu Time, no matter where you are in the world, Jump!! It will prevent the coming Ice Age, it really will!! Pass it on! ;~D
