I guess even used car salesmen get hero worship. The man was and is about the most spineless and sneaky man I have ever had the displeasure of serving under. We never paid off the debt, he cooked the books, thus giving permission, however unwritten for corporate America to do likewise. He is a complete and utter fraud, likely uncapable of showing true emotion. He's a liar, he's unremorseful, and he and egomaniac. "He" is not the government, "He" did not run the government by his little lonesome.
He raised the minimum wage so that teenie boppers could afford ther very own Nike Air Jordans. Minimum wage is not a wage for a family to live on, and if they are living on it, then I want them spayed and neutered. An increase in the minimum wage is not good for companies in that it reduces the profits of the organization. So, to counter the loss of profit, many companies reduce the hours an employee works, or lay off more employees than they normally would. Minimum wage increases have little effect on semi skilled or skilled labor in that the smarter labor force is already compensated well above that level. The dumb ones have to fend for themselves. It's a thinning of the herd type thing.
I hate even talking about his dallying about with education. Anecdotally, I remember watching the music and theater programs vanishing from public schools at an alarming rate in the early 90's. Remember all the commercials on MTV asking for donations of musical instruments in schools? That was the Clinton legacy. He dumbed down our schools, he taught our children that oral sex isn't sex even though the word sex "is" clearly in the title of the act. He may have given more to the National Endowment for the Arts, but that would be a given, since they are by nature a liberal bunch. So, no, he didn't help our children in the least. Besides, it isn't the responsibility of the government to teach your children, that belongs to parents, period. What the government does is not teaching, but indoctrination, similar to Cuba's education system. Why would you want a group of bureaucrats teaching your children when you wouldn't let most of them at your dinner table?
As for his "slick willy", I compare it to the Pope getting pleasured during the middle of mass in the Vatican. I'm sorry, the White House is not a red light district, though I won't speak for the rest of D.C. The man turned the Presidency, his Presidency, into a frat party, plain and simple.
The eight years I endured him, nearly six of them in the military, were the most excruciating years of my life up to this point. The man could not make a decision on his own without the aid of polling data. During his watch he killed a handful of people in Waco, sent a Cuban refugee back, sat on his laurels after our sailors got killed by terrorists, ran us out of a country after our soldiers were massacred and dragged through dirt streets by terrorists, and unblinkingly looked away when genocide took place on the other side of the world. That is the Bill Clinton I remember.
