Today was a moderately enjoyable Saturday. Even though it was overcast, it was a nice day. After the boys spent a couple of hours trying to beat each other up, they talked me into bringing them to the park. This park is about 35 minutes away and has a pond, fountain, and ducks that the kids (and adults) can feed. We were on our way, with a special .79 cent loaf of bread that had the ducks' names written all over it.
Who knew that the ducks were full?? They were completely uninterested. I guess Saturday is an extremely popular "Let's go feed the ducks" day..Anyway, good thing the boys were able to settle for some swinging, sliding and climbing at the park. The ducks were just in no way a form of entertainment for us today.
As I was sitting there watching my kiddos play amongst other kiddos their age, I realized that alot of kids use a fear factor in attempts to amuse themselves with their parents. One child slid on his back, head first down the long slide...when he was at the end, his head was the first thing to hit the ground, and his mother was able to make it from the bench to the slide where he lay limp in approximately one nanosecond. As soon as she said, "OH MY GOSH CAMERON ARE YOU OKAY????", Cameron let out a shrill giggle and popped up from the ground. He wasn't even my kid and my heart was in my throat....Now I know how my parents must have felt..(Never thought I'd say that..)
Well, this is all I have to offer for today. I'm off to bed.............
