I have an immature one, but no retinal problems yet. I'm amazed you can put together such great screenies and match colors so well since cataracts generally cause refractive and color distortions: Mine does.
During med school I earned my bread doing nursing on an eye ward. Lots has changed since Hippocrates and I worked there, but I can tell you that post surgically for a week (plus/minus) you'll have the treated eye closed, opening it only for drops for about a week. Your vision will be blurry for a week or two depending on how quickly the edema (swelling) of the cornea decreases. Then, glasses...but your vision will definitely improve, Chuck.
Wishing you the best of good luck with a rapid, uncomplicated recovery, bud!
