Multiplicity won't run

Installs, but goes to Stardock Multiplicity website when run

Installed Multiplicity on my laptop with a fresh install of Windows 7, then after installing all the drivers, installed Multiplicity. However, instead of running, when I attempt to run the program, it goes to the Stardock Multiplicity website.

Every time we see this it's that the root certificates on the PC are old - and because its a 'fresh install', that is almost certainly the case here.

A Windows update on it usually fixes it.

Unfortunately, it's a 'clean install' of Windows 7 32-bit and Microsoft no longer supports it with updates through the Windows Update function.  There must be some way to update the root certificates on the computer short of the Microsoft routines????

Thank you for this information. I'll await your response, but in the meantime try to find a way to update the root certificates without the help of Windows Update. I think this is also the source of a LOT the trouble I'm having with Google Chrome and Microsoft browsers.

the download file for me says update not applicable.  if stardock cannot fix this then they should remove w7 as a comoatible os w multiplicity

Auggy, it's not a Multiplicity problem, it's a Windows one I am afraid.  While Windows 7 is now ancient, if it is properly updated, Multiplicity will work perfectly well on it.
