Static wallpapers being displayed with a weird white effect by Deskscapes 10.02

Hi I have this problem whenever I try to set a wallpaper outside of Deskscapes.  Vids/dreams work fine, but whenever I try to set a .jpg wallpaper this strange white/contrast? effect is applied.  The wallpaper displays fine if assigned to show within Deskscapes itself.

 

Any tips?

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please check if you have accidentally turn on "Effect". You can reset all effect by clicking "Clear effects" Button.

Yup I definitely clicked that button and as I said applying a wallpaper from within Deskscapes works as expected.  

 

I've since also tested setting a picture as a backdrop via the Windows context (right click) menu, which behaves a little differently - it does a fade between the old desktop and the new desktop, then when the fade should be completed it turns the bloom/gamma/something to the new picture up by about 25%.  So the problem I initially reported might be related (just that the method I was using doesn't transition between wallpapers and the bloom/contrast/gamma/whatever is set to like 99%).

 

I see the amount of 'bloom' changes from picture to picture, some are as bad as the first example, others are more like this:

And the image is being centred despite the global settings set to Stretch.

So to be clear, if you apply anything through DS, its fine, yes?  Its just whan you try to apply an image outside of it, through Windows itself, that is when you see the issue?

If so, I am curious why you might thing DS is the issue?  If you uninstall DS, reboot, do you still see the issue?

OK the 'bloom' issue is definitely not happening after uninstalling DS.  

 

The wallpaper transition and incorrect stretching were Windows' fault.  I didn't know W7 did transitions

 

But the bloom is certainly not here, and it wasn't here when running DS3 or 8 either.  I only upgraded to DS10 about a week before 10.02 came out of beta.

Good news is that after reinstalling DS10 a second time this issue is no longer occurring.  How bizarre.  I guess that's me sorted for now...

I have this.  If I apply a dream via double click the dream file, I get blurry screens. If I disable DS, then load a dream via DS then it's ok.

This almost always happens when I apply a dream outside of DS, but it doesn't happen when I want it to.

I haven't seen it with static wallpapers, probably because I don't use DS for that.
