What will happen after I upgrade to Windows 8.1

I have Start8 set to boot to desktop and replace the start screen. What is going to happen after the upgrade since W8 has a start "button" and can boot to the desktop on its own I think. I almost don't want to upgrade and let well enough alone.

BTW I tell people that I feel like I am running Windows 7.5 instead of Windows 8 and I am happy as a clam.

Assuming you have Start8 1.2 or later installed you should find that other than on your first bootup with 8.1 (where it may go to the start screen), it should continue to work as it always has. The Windows 8.1 start button will be replaced with the Start8 one and the boot to desktop feature in Start8 will continue to control if your machine boots to the desktop.
