Hi everyone at Stardock,
first I wanna say that I'm fairly impressed with how nicely Start8 fits into the Windows 8 UI.
Yet I'd like to see an improved Version of the "genuine Windows 8 Start Menu", maybe as a third "Style" option in Start8 (probably also incorporable into the existing Win8-Style):
A) I'd like to be able to easily switch between ***different Win8-menu configurations*** for different work context (e.G. "Developping", "Presentation"/"Teaching", "Media Processing" and the like).
That is, I have so many programs on my machine that even with the classic start menu of Start8 it takes time to get to the app I need in a given moment. On the other hand, in the long term it would also be wise to get used the new start menu philosopy, but ALL applications in that one...???
So it might be a good idea to be able to switch between several of freely configurable Start Menus that only contain only one to three screens of tiles, thus speeding up the process.
Switching could be done via a special tile(set?) or a drop-down-list in the upper corner.
Another, similiar idea would be special tiles that would scroll to a given position/group ind the Start Menu when clicked upon.
Maybe not as easy to configure, but nonetheless a similiar approach (jumping to a group of tiles that's been configured for a specific task).
Oh, and the the Start Menu should be able to take you back to that place when called up again!
Anyway - If there's anyone who is able to do this, and in a very smooth and natural way, it would be Stardock!
So what about the idea? I personally think that this is what MS should have done with the start menu from the beginning...
