I installed the trail version of Start8 a couple of hours ago, and it immediately fixed my biggest (and about only) gripe with Windows 8.

But I have one problem, I can't get any recently used programs to show on the start menu. I've set it to show at least 10 recently used programs, but the list is completely empty. Even after I spent a couple of minutes opening and closing random programs to see if something happened.

Is it a bug or do I need to use it more before something happens?

There's also a short flash of the regular Start Screen when I start the computer, before the desktop is shown. Is there anything that can be done about that?
