deadlock 1.03

raptr conflict?

I sometimes get a deadlock, cannot even use ctrl-alt-del or even physical powerbutton. Maybe a conflict with raptr? steam?

Not sure how I can provide more useful information.

Uninstalled for now

(well holding down the powerbutton for 4 seconds turns the machine off the hard way still)

Download and run the following utility: http://sd.stardock.com/SDSupportTool.exe

This is a tool that we use to gather relevant log files and basic information about your computer. Once the utility finishes running, please send back the .zip file it creates on the desktop.

Send it to support@stardock.com

If you're getting a hard lock, check your video drivers.

Yeah, could be a factor, because of beta driver from nvidia. Whatever it is I have only managed to trigger it (frequently) using Start8.

And of course the moment I am not actively trying to find a deadlock without Start8 it happens.

So now I am feeling pretty dumb for thinking it was Start8, and not going with nvidia first.

 

(So not sending any zipfiles).

Typically if the machine doesn't respond to ctrl-alt-del it is a hardware or driver or OS bug.

I would check the event log in case anything shows or leave it for a little longer and see if the OS eventually responds.  Windows should detect most video driver deadlocks and reset the drivers eventually.
