So the big model of the Kol battleships gave me an idea, that is if ironclad wanted to they could made miniatures ranges based on the game.
There is realy alot do to.
1 make the models, this is the hard part, and the one that cost money. First you have to decide on the size of the model,
You can go very small 6mm(or more corectaly called 1:300 scale) that means the small models are quite small, but the big capitals and titans can be rather large.
If you go bigger, the the big capital ships get very big. but the bigger the models the more detail they can get and be painted.
Also the bigger the models the more money they will cost.
The second part is what to make them of, there are generaly 4 things they are made of, soft plastics, resin plastics, white metal and hard plastic, soft plastics are almost only used cheap model soldiers in 20mm scale. Metal is the standard for most figures/models from 6mm to 28mm, the advantage is that making metal figures is cheap and get lots of detail, but the bigger the model the more metal and the price of metal has gone up to the extreme of late, and is dictating the price of thise model figures. the resin is cheap, but brittle, so small models and small gun turrets ect would break of rather easly. Had plastics is a new thing, it's easy to mass produce and the price is low, but the first layout cost of the producers is very high, so hard plastics are only used if you know you are gonna sell alot so you earn back what you have spent on the machines to make them.
Personaly the best options would be metal models for frigates and cruissers, and resin on the big clunky models, this would be cheapest both for the producers and buyers.
The last thing is a rule sett, you need rules, this baiscly give hit points to each unit, and balansing, this is basicly a papper bok version of the core settings of the computer game, it does have to be simplified, as players can keep all those variables in their heads, so some simple rock papper siccors style rules would work.
The books also give an opetunity to give lots and lots of backstory to each faction.
