Boarding Parties ability should inflict damage to capitalships and titans

I think that this new tec cap ship should inflict damage at least to other capitalships, as this ship ist realy useless against caps at the beginning of the game. I havent found a way to use this ship as first cap for this reason. And late in the game feature of capturing ships is not very powerfull.

Maybe i just use this ship not right, so tips for using that ship would be nice too.

I agree, it does damage to structures without taking them over. It should be able to board anything for just the damage. That said I don't think all caps need to be useful early game, but this one isn't any better late game so it needs a boost.

There are abilities in this beta that should affect other ships/structures, but they do not. This is one of them - I agree that boarding parties should be able to target capital ships and titans, but be unable to capture them.

Another problem is the magnetize ability can not target titans.

Altogether I think it's just a badly designed ship.  

First, it's hideously ugly.  I don't think they could have made it look much more stupid if they tried. 

Second, its abilities are lame.  I really don't feel like they're worth having in my fleet.  It's a waste of a cap ship slot IMO.

Its abilities are good for support, say for stealing some nice vasari overseers/miners, or some advent guardians.  Since this ship can't take over/take out a titan production facility is use in the early game as a pre titan counter means that is almost completely useless.  I would say that if you have marines inside the enemy ship it should do more then just do a high damage per second to the ship.  It should have some other random effects that might stun the ship, slow it down, prevent phase jump, slow down hull repair...etc.  This ship should be good at something, perhaps another debuffer against a titan so that they would be made easier to kill with the proper fleet synergy.

I suppose the reason for this might be, that it is not intended to prevent the use of titan abilities?

So far Magnetize ist the only Ability rendering the target unable to use abilities I think. (also 1 Magnetize Spamming Dunov could prevent a titan from using abilities all alone, whicht would make a decent loyalist titan counter, but still it's quite alot of weight to maybe the most useful tec cap available)

 

So if this is a problem has to be seen as soon as more disabling abilities are available.
