I think one role of a Titan should be to suck the logistic force of the building faction. As of right now (should load the game) I believe it is '2 / 150'.
Yeah they increased the cost this last patch, but not the upkeep. I think it should be worth at least 3 cap slots if not 4 and at least 50 more uh (damn it...forgot the resource name...logistic slots). There should be a benefit to not building a Titan. I think the mentality is now (Dev and players) is that Titans are so cool, they have to be played. They are cool alright but they are by far the most cost efficient weapon and don't require any new strategery (add to dictionary).
So the "role" of a Titan should be two fold.
1) To head in a strategic direction influenced greatly by the faction's style.
2) Sacrifice flexibility of fleet make-up.
Right now it only really causes you to sacrifice a CAP slot...and odds are that slot would be filled by a Cap ship that doesn't really rise in levels too much.
Again, should have looked at the numbers but end-game I think the 2/ 150 is a pretty small fraction of the total.
Personally I'm going to have to keep to small fleet sizes I think. Game runs great BUT on a large map, sending 40 ships as backup can cause my poor machine to bog down. (CPU not GPU). So I think the balance as it is now will work in those games, but I think the standard model is Normal fleet sizes.
