[0.78] Bring it on

Having sunk 16 hours into 0.77 last week I can wait to see what 0.78 will bring. Now guys... we have a long weekend here in NZ where we celebrate Waitangi Day - be nice if you time it is so I can play for three days straight forget the wife and kids and be all anti-social and stuff.

What's Waitangi Day.  I know nothing of New Zealand.  

Also, I work in a spooky old mental hospital, and anti-social means psychopath/sociopath to me.  

 

See, I asked a question and gave a factoid, so know I need to know what Waitangi day is.  Sounds made up.

Waitangi Day commemorates when the English signed a document with the Maori (natives of new zealand) in 1842. It is foundation document for our country and basis of many arguments to this day.

 

Well I certainly don't want to go all Jack Nicholson on my family. But time alone behind my computer playing FE sounds like a good time. However, we are in the middle of our summer so I will probably have to split my time between games and playing in the pool with my three girls.

 

So there you have it some knowledge of New Zealand and my personal life

I actually look forward to my fiance having to work a double so I can play video games in peace...I'm sure there is something wrong with that, but it feels so right.

No! Not longer, shorter! It should take shorter time! I´m bored with finding bugs and balance issuers  already repeatably reported in .77. I need at least .78 so I can go out looking for new things to explore/find/report...

I can't promise 0.78 this week.  It'll be Derek's call but I'm pushing to delay it. There's a lot of feedback to integrate into balance. Plus, there's a crapload of new music and art that has to go in that is just very time consuming.

Is it possible you could release 0.78 not on a Thursday?  We have mostly tried out all the possible combinations for 0.77 and we need a new version to give you more feedback and new bug reports.  But if we absolutely have to wait almost three full weeks between 0.77 and 0.78 then I suppose we can play other games until 0.78 is released.

I know 0.77 was released on a Friday, so I know there is at least some precedent for not releasing on a Thursday.  Maybe you could release on a Monday or Tuesday to give you a few extra days but not having us twiddle our thumbs for a full extra week.

New music hooray!  A bit of voice acting would be welcome as well.  Maybe if FE is a commercial success we could get that in a future expansion.

Right after I dropped $20 on the Patriots, I also dropped $20 on no Beta this week.  My bets are looking pretty good right about now...  I might even go double-or-nothing on no Beta for the following week.  Any takers?

How much trouble would it be to do a .775 work-in-progress patch, maybe trying out some experimental stuff for a week you're unsure on?

Well i was already pushing for 0.78 last week soooo... main problem for me is that I lack the motivation to report already fixed bugs/game balancing changes so i haven't played FE in 1.5 weeks.

Plus to me XP splitting is a huge change. So still waiting for the next patch, please bring it on... Or even some hacky nightly build (Brad plzzz)

agreed. I haven't played 0.77 since I figured that the game was broken as it was. I will play again when next patch comes out.

The entire UI reminds me of GalCiv2.. Good UI no doubt, just wish it did not remind me of space.
