Quoting AlixeniusTheGreat,
Having your created character, who you (hopefully) invested time and thought into creating just roll over and die 50 turns into the game from old age just doesn't sit well with me.
Quoting Heavenfall, reply 6Yeah a big "no thanks" on the main character dying of old age. The dynasty system should provide new rulers if the first one dies, but not replace him/her naturally.
The method of death wasn't really the important point.. its the fact that you have heirs who can never fufill the roll of ruler at this point. Only reason i suggested death from old age is death from combat = loss at this point.. figured it would be a much smaller request. And if they live 600 years it certainly wont be 5 turns in. But again the major point was dynasty system while interesting seems rather pointless if heirs can never become ruler.
Given that mana is going global, this problem could be solved by abstracting the human player as the puppeteer in control of a Kingdom and its Sovereign. Sort of like the way a Sultan outranks a King.
So, let the Sovereigns die of any cause, even very old age, and let their heirs take over (but possibly let you choose who takes the throne).
