I hate the start menu layout, so I like to have the start menu as a fly-out taskbar toolbar. For this you have to add the start menu 'programs' folder to your taskbar as a toolbar.

Real easy in XP, but in 7 you do not have permission to access the start menu... You cant add entries, create folders, organise your shortcuts, or, add it to the taskbar.

you can also move the stuff around on the all program in start menu EX I have all my spy and virus programs in one folder.. so when I moved ccleaner to my Defenders folder I did NOT delete the ccleaner folder just renamed it to lets say Utilities and you can do all that right in the start menu but yes it is a PAIN in the ASS... if you do it the way of TAKE OWNER SHIP you can do it from the start menu Folder but not every thing is in the lets say your Fuzzy is the name u use for user name of PC some may be in Public, all users etc so you would have to TOS of all then move them and make new folders... BUT CAUTION is needed when moving stuff around in that folder.. when I did it this way some stuff was not showing up thats way I now do it the PAIN in the ASS way .... hope this is close to what you want ...
