I have about 200 themes in my theme manager application and it takes too long to find the ones I like. In addition to that, it doesn't always load the specified parts to the theme. So I am trying to access the themes that I like best straight from the start menu in shortcuts. One of my top five choices is Zubaz believe it or not. Love your DesktopX theme! Care to see my personal tweaks on it? All you need to do is ask.
I have run into nothing but troubles trying to do this though. The theme manager suites just open the theme manager window which does save time in finding them but sort of takes the punch out of having a shortcut in the first place. An older version of Theme Manager which was the one I used in the trial version was able to open files without opening the interface but not the one that comes with Object Desktop currently. The window blinds will not load at all as a shortcut, unless I use a wba which, from what I understand, builds the skin all over again. Meanwhile I find that there are half a dozen other applications in Object Desktop which I wish I could control by command as well because I rarely see them work right with Theme Manager. If theme manager did what it was supposed to do I would probably be very happy with it.
PS since I have the pleasure of talking to one of the best...do you mind if I ask you another very specific question? I really want to make widgets for the vista sidebar which I have ported to XP using Alky. I am unable to figure out why DestopX crashes every time I try to export an object as vista ready. Do I need to buy the pro version for this or is something else causing the crash? I wasn't trying to make them independant of DX; just widgets, is that not possible? If you wish I can start another thread for this discussion. Thanks for your time.
