I have to tell my story...
To me this sums up why I could never be a Democrat.
I know there are bad people on both sides but what I saw this year really opened my eyes and amazed me....
The out right nasty hatred for Bush is disgusting....
I live in the Dallas Texas area and Monday me and a friend were lucky to get two tickets to Bush's final stop at SMU...
The night was full of energy and excitement but what I experienced on the way in and on the way out made me sick...
There was Pro Kerry protesters... Not as many as I had thought might be there but I would say about 100 to 150.
I have nothing against protesters and feel that everyone has a right to protest and voice their opinion...
But these protesters where different (Or where they) I had heard that at the Republican convention, there was very sick and nasty protesters but since I did not see if first hand, it really did not affect me....
What I saw at SMU Monday night I believe was a smaller version of what happened at the Republican convention.
First some of the signs:
"FU BUSH"
"Lick Dick, Eat BUSH"
"Where is John Henkly when you need him"
Next several of the protesters where shooting the fingerer at us... We where doing nothing and saying nothing. My friend and I just looked at each other in amazement shaking our heads... We were both just glad we did not bring our young kids with us....
I know that these protesters don't represent "all" Democrats... I have several close friends that are Democrats and we have very healthy debates and have no trouble maintaining our friendship...
But what I experienced Monday was just plane disgusting... The Democrats are getting more and more out of touch with the people of America...
I did not like Clinton but once he was elected, supported him and would have NEVER acted like this to his supporters...
I believe the conservative Democrats have to take back control over their party if they every want to regain respect by American voters... I do not believe what I experienced Monday night was isolated... I believe these kind of disgusting protest took place all over America this past year...
All I can say is come on people grow up and bring something more to the table besides hatred!!!!!
To the conservative and good Democrats out there, stand up and take back control of you party and tell people like Michael Moore to take a hike!!!!
