I congratulate John Kerry on his concession, though I believe that he still had a fleeting chance of becoming the next President due to the fact that I would not be surprised to see issues come up in the news regarding election fraud or other such things. Despite this, I think this is a sad day for America. The people have spoken, and the people have made the wrong choice. Further, it is a sad day for the world. I apologize to the world for my countries mistake in choosing its leader. We have made a colossal error. Maybe it is I, but I don't understand how someone could vote for Bush.
Let me qualify that statement with this: I cannot understand why a non-wealthy person would vote for Bush. I mean, I like my huge tax cut as much as anyone else and I see how hundreds of thousands of dollars can cause you to vote for Bush, but for other people, how and why? We know the crimes against humanity and the country committed by Bush. We know that under his leadership he has (whether justified in his mind or not) slaughtered 100,000. We (or at least I) know that under Bush’s leadership the federal government has jailed people secretly, refusing to release the number of detainees and refusing to press charges. Though the people I know of have been released, I am sure there are many more who have not. Further, we know that Bush plans to push through the Patriot Act two which takes away our rights as American Citizens that we currently enjoy and that we enjoyed before he pushed through the first patriot act.
Once again, I feel saddened about our countries decision, and I can only hope that reasonable people such as Colin Powel remain to have some power in the administration. Further, Mr. Bush I have this to say to you. You have my support as the leader of my country, but you will not have my support as an individual. Nor will you ever have my respect or trust. Its to late for that.
I am just happy that Michigan voted Kerry. My efforts in this state were not wasted, and I know that I live in a state with people who feel the same compassion I do. Kerry may have lost the election, but the US Citizens lost the most, a savior.
