I can't live with ControlCenter anymore, or ObjectBar has decided to go absolutely bananas.
Since a week or so ago, when my OB ControlCenter suddenly changed its shape, I seem to have no control whatsoever over it. It always used to sit docked on the right edge of my screen, until I decided to experiment with a dual monitor, which forced me to move the bar to the top of the screen.
There I have Virtual Desktops, the one component of OD I find essential, having used it since the days of OS/2.
Now, every time I reboot, which is ideally about once a week, OB comes up at the BOTTOM of the screen, and I can't find any way of moving it. The only thing which has any effect is toggling dock/undock, but that makes it much worse, for now the VDs go to the top of the screen, with the same size of display except for filling all of the screen below the VDs with a large white area, AND squeezing all my applications into tall thin ones occupying the parts of the screen still available.
I have tried uninstalling and installing, but the situation is still exactly the same. I seem to able to either have it as a horizintal bar where IT wants to be, undocked, or docked as a vertical bar but taking more than half my real estate.
I tried, just to see if I could influence it, to add a clock widget to the bar, but when I found that it wanted to tell me that it was 14:22 PM I realized that that was NOT a sensible idea. What kind of rubbish is THAT?
If I can't get OB to work with virtual desktops I'll have to abandon OB, which means I'm left with ObjectDock Plus as the only Object Desktop product of any real value, and then the question is whether it's worth continuing with Object Desktop.
