Where there actually games on Dragonlance?
I just read the original 3 books by Weiss and Hickman which were translated in dutch last year (25 years later??)
I actually read books 7-9 (after the cataclysm with Tasslehoff traveling forward in time) about 8 years ago wondering what they were all talking about because i never had the opportunity to read the earlier books.
The 4th book (legends) just came out and i read that too.
Those are all great books. If you're wondering how the time-line is supposed to be chronologically it goes like this:
The First 3 Chronicles:
Dragons of Autumn Twilight
Dragons of Winter Night
Dragons of Spring Dawning
Then come the "Legends", also known as the "Twins Trilogy":
Time of the Twins
War of the Twins
Test of the Twins
Then comes the 4th book in the "Chronicles" which was written years later:
Dragons of Summer Flame ( <---- this book covers the Chaos War)
There are many other "Dragonlance" books that aren't directly connected to the story-lines of the original books but cover other characters and even later covering the stories of the children of the original "Heroes of the Lance". One of the best books I've ever read in my entire life is also a Dragonlance book. This book is the first book in the "Heroes" trilogy which is a series of stand alone books not connected to each other by their story-lines. The first book in this series is called:
The Legend of Huma
The Legend of Huma covers the second "Dragon War" that took place a couple thousand years before the events of the first books in the series which cover the "War of the Lance" which is the 3rd or 4th "Dragon War". I Highly recommend this book, even if to those who aren't Dragonlance fans and who don't want to read any of the other books. As the story has a beginning and a ending you don't need to read any other books to see what happens to the characters. The first time I read the book I was 16 or 17, around in there somewhere, and honestly...there was a part of this book where I balled like a baby. That's Never happened to me before or since while reading a book. I'm not some "weepy over emotional" type of guy. Disney movies don't make me cry, I didn't tear up when I watched "Ghost" for the first time with my girlfriend back in the day, I'm just not easily moved on a emotional level by things I see in movies or read in books, but this book....this one got to me. If you haven't read it I highly suggest you do, you won't be sorry, and I recommend that book to ANY fan of fantasy literature.
My favorite character of course is Raistlin Majere and there are a few books that spend time centering on his and Caramon's early life. This series is called the "Raistlin Chronicles" and only has two books:
The Soulforge
and
Brothers in Arms
There is a newer series called "The Lost Chronicles" which is another series of stand alone stories. The 3rd book covers Raistlin the time-line between when he disappeared from the ship using the Dragon Orb before it when into the Maelstrom and when he reappears later wearing the black robes. This book is called:
Dragons of the Hourglass Mage
I'm still reading this one atm. Honestly I'm only a few chapters in because I can rarely find the time to sit down and read anymore. I get easily distracted by the computer or TV or a game or I'm busy spending time with my wife. So far it's been really good and I'm very interested to see what Raistlin went through during that time. It's a rather big gap in his time-line and I'm surprised it's taken them so long to get around to covering it.
If you have time read the books I mentioned in the order they should go in and you'll have a much enjoyable reading experience. There's some really good stuff there and some of the best fantasy novels I've read in my entire life.
If anyone makes a mod with some method for making Draconians with Empire Death Magic on Dragon Eggs... Love.
There will be Draconians galore in the Dragonlance Mod
I could make them as a stand alone unit with the requirements for making them you mentioned for use in the standard Elemental game though. All we really need atm to make that happen is the ability to get our custom model and animations into the game. Of course we also still need to do the animations and I have to finish the skin variations for the model for the different types of Draconians.
