So I have been trying to download the beta patch for Sins for the last couple hours.

I have seen so many errors on multiple levels that this isn't really a good first impression of the tool.  I get errors trying to login.  "Can't connect to servers..."  "Can't retrieve data..." "Error downloading..." Stuck at "Download Starting..."  Now I am stuck at "Processing Files..."

Is this really better than just providing a download link?  I understand that this tool is really about selling more product but if you are going to try and cram more products down people's throats, the tool better damn well do the basics perfectly.

I'm just so tired of the marketing weenies getting involved and conjuring up new ideas to collect, track, and sell more STUFF.  Meanwhile, the basics are totally glazed over...basics like um...patching...

I've always been a fan of Stardock because of their approach and philosophies to software, copy protection, updates, you name it but this isn't good.  If this is the wave of the future for Stardock products, I am going to have to think twice about my future purchases.
