History: For countless millinea, the Assryians lived peacefully alongside the Ha'taks, a reptillian race. Sometime during Earth's Twelveth Century, the leaders of both civilazations were killed, and a vicious war broke out, both factions eager to destroy the other utterly. Miilions were slaughtered on both sides until the Assryians destroyed every Ha'tak tribe until only the Skathalet, who were enslaved, oppressed or exploited by the other tribes, were left. Horrified at the atrocities they committed, the Assryians spared the Skathalet and took them in. (The Assryains consider genocide and slaughter to be an affront to thier gods). The Assryians have long since seeked for a way to atone for thier "unholy slaughter" of the Ha'taks. With Hyperdrive, they just may get that chance.
Culture: Assryians and Skathalet are highly spiritual, and theological and cultural studies are held in high esteem. Subordination is also valued, and acting on intiative or impulse is frowned upon. Also, the Sisterhood stays out of war whenever possible, only entering when it soverignty is threatened.
Misc.: The name "Sisterhood" comes from the name of the civilization's governing body: the Empress and her Sages. When the ruling monarch is male, the name becomes "Brotherhood." Also, recent tests found a large number of genetic similarities between the Skathalet and the Earth creature known as the Velocoraptor. No conclusions have been drawn.

History: By the Twenty-Second Century, Earth was finally recovering from World War Three, and the nations of the planet were slowly coming together. In 2117, ships were detected launching from Venus and heading for the International Space Station. The ISS hailed the mysterious fleet, and they responded---with weapons fire. The ships then spread troops across the planet, and the invaders swept any resistance aside, conquering entire continents within weeks. The United States was among the last countries to fall. In desparation, the U.S. lauched all of its nuclear missiles...at Venus. The planet was vaporized in seconds, shcoking the invaders. Along with several rebel factions' the U.S. counter-attacked, employing every weapon at its disposal, eventually driving the invaders off the planet to search for a new home. But the world was shattered, with warlords and revoloutionaries using the cahos to gain control of several nations. After a U.S.-led conquest campiagn, (which is now refered to as "cleaning up the dog's vomit,") the world was united under military rule.
Culture: The Empire is highly miliarized. Military service is mandatory for all citizens upon reaching 17 years of age. The Empire holds a deep hatred for the Venusians and weariness towards all other aliens. Suprisingly, the civilian population is, for the most part, left alone. Disent, though frowned upon and taught against is tolerated, and officers who abuse thier power are dealt with extremely harshly.
