Yesterday, in the debate, both Bush and Kerry brought up that the other candidates plan was not cost effective, and was increasing the deficit and debt. The way to handle this is to institute a security tax on the country. We need to secure the country, and we need to pay for it somehow. The monetary price is a small price to pay for the safety and security of the United States of America. We need to crack down on the borders (all of them), with increased illegal border searches, patrols and such. We need to start random searches of at least 1/10 of all the cars and containers that enter this country, including air freight, ship freight and truck freight, as well as personal cars, for radioactive material and biological agents. Anyone found guilty of transporting such material needs to be put away in a maximum sentence prison with a life sentence with no chance for parole. All private planes in the country must be checked at least once a month for such material, and the owner of the plane needs to be told that there will be a minimum 100 million dollar fine against any plane involved in a terrorist attack or illegal activity of a terrorist nature. The nuclear plants in this country need to be properly secured with no fly zones and an ability to shoot down approaching planes under military control. We need to increase the number of police officers in the country. We need to secure our schools to prevent a Russian scale attack. And to do all this we need funding. The way to fund this is a 2% wealth tax on all accumulated wealth, not counting real estate. The reason real estate is not included is because real estate investments directly employ people, and peoples shelter should not be taxed.
