Private health care, with premiums paid by the government, should be offered to the people who are below the poverty line. Further, the elderly should recieve such a plan, because in this sort of system the money spent by the government would not be dumped into a never ending hole, but rather would be pumped into the country's economy. Further, with most deductibles not paid for by the government, but rather charged to the refering doctor and the patient, this would cut in on the incesent over utilization which plagues our system and unfortunatley does not recieve the attention it deserves. The cost of medical expenses in the final year of life is equal to all the other expenses. We should allow medical assisted suicide for the terminally ill or dying, instead of requiring expensive treatment, fot those who wish to die. Further, all medical expenses should be deducted from the departed's estate, will or possessions after they die.
