This is a story from a gamespot user:
"I'm currently struggling for survival on a Huge Random Map. Here's my totally Epic story.
----------------------------------------------------------
I started playing as the Vasarri, and put everything I had into expansion and research. I figured that once I had enough resources and the most powerful weapons, I could build up a fleet and take the galaxy by surprise. Suffice to say, my plan worked. My massive fleet swept over worlds like locusts, and my vastly superior weapons and technology gave me very little to worry about in terms of resistance. After about three days real time of playing, I had conquered most of the galaxy's solar system's and pushed all of my enemies back. I was unstoppable.
Then, my downfall. Most of the surviving factions banded together to form what I affectionately nicknamed "The Resistance." Using coordinated attacks, they began to plow through my core defenses, and pushed their way outwards into the edges of the solar systems. My still superior technology didn't stand up to the sheer number of ships they used. It was truly memorizing that my computer didn't explode from processing so many ships.
After many crippling defeats of my core planets, which are the planets that I have the most populated and contain the most important structures such as Prototypes and Phase Stabilizers, I abandoned several solar system's and withdrew to the edges of my controlled space. I thought I had more time before they began their assault, but I was wrong. I never got a chance to re-group, as The Resistance began to attack my remaining solar systems. Before long, my defeat was assured, and I withdrew all of my ships to my primary solar system, and positioned nearly my entire fleet at the Star, waiting.
I didn't have to wait too long. A massive fleet of untold proportions attacked. The battle lasted nearly 20 minutes real time, but I just couldn't withstand such an attack. My entire fleet was destroyed. What was left of the enemy fleet quickly pushed their way into the system, and destroyed world after world. As a large fleet approached my Home World, I knew I had been defeated. I put together the remaining frigates and my last Carrier, as well as the last two Migrator's I had, and fled.
Now, my situation is kinda similar to the plot of Battlestar Galactica, which is sooo cool, yet frustrating at the same time. My fleet is constantly on the move, jumping from planet to planet, solar system to solar system, evading the enemies and looking for an uncolonized or undefended world to colonize. That's where I'm at right now. I doubt I'll last much longer, as the enemy is EVERYWHERE, and I've got so few ships left. But I'm going to see this through to the end. If I am able to find a system to colonize, I'll begin to build up again, and try to reclaim my lost territory.

Is that level of AI awesomeness even possible or is he exaggerating? I would love a game like this.
