... its space and space is WAST ... You wouldnt get instant intel about planets unless there are already probes in system (think scout ships spec ability modification)

the info should be reveal in phases like 10s in system .. only nearby radar blimbs are revelaed. 20s nearby blimbs are revield by specific ship/building/obect also far away blimbs are revealed, 30s far away blimbs are revealed as per class .. but ofcorse a fleet behind the other side of the palnet SHOULD NOT be visible this would create a bit realism ... and a bit more tactical in palcing stuff in systems
( a simple implemention would be to ad a wave liek efect that riples out of a ship at a fixed rate and to a fixed distance, low info longer high info shorter, and indentify ships/objects on UI as it pases them)
this would also allow Stealth ships for some sneaky ... Trade ship hunting

It Would fit very well into a bounty system
well LoS cant be easily implemented though
also I would like to see alrger scale ins ship vs planet vs star department .. Did you know that Jupuiter is like 1000 times larger than earth? i would like to see more scale in small planets that have managable gravity wells, to say stars and giant gass planets witch have huge wells to fight in to hide in(lets say you bait a fleet deep into a grav well and make a flanking atack somewhere else while the oponent runs , a long time, for the grav well edge), .. and maybe to build in ..

this birngs to the so much hoped for Moon feature, imagine 2 - 3 moons with LoS around a gas giant on different sides controlled by 2-3 players

a real boxing cage.
this feature could be much more easyer to implement

Modders are you listening? how about if you placed 2-5 plantes very close to each otyher

so that their gravity wells would overlap.
And another feature - ship performance based on dmg - its illogical that a ship who has like < 20% as in almoust dead fights at full strength. I have a sugestion lets say a capital ship has been hit for 30% its a big mean combat ship with lots of redundancy so its still fighting at max but over 30% its performance starts to deteriote .. its slow down, takes longer to fire, lower antimater regen. it could decrese linery to say 20% at 1% hp or in hops 80% 60&% 40% 20% performance ... small ships could feel it much more since they are small and fragile with less redundancy

actually redundacy could be incorporated into research. also Idea say under 50% hp .. a ship recieves a chance to expereince kritical hits .. like engine failure, Fire, spec abilty disabling, repair rate malfunction, phse drive disability... these could be repairable or they could be permament untill fixed by a repair station or a repair ship.
well i admit its a bit of a ripoff of Star Trek Armada but hey their system was very realistic
aslo in face of Cap ship lvl I would like to see normal ships gain lvls nothing dramatic as in Capital ship case but that little edge so a Veteran frigate could take on easily a greenhorn frigate.
