A Wintry Mix

Sleet, Snow, Ice...yay!

According to my weathermajig on the university website we're supposed to get 2-4 inches of snow tonight beginning at 2AM..which is actually the time now as I'm typing this.

Tomorrow morning there should be more snowing, around 3-5 inches, and around noon some ice should show up(0.3 to 0.5 inches) and freeze the crap out of everything.

I'd love it if this damn place would close like a high school...well, maybe some of my profs will cancel if they have any common sense. Actually, I think I overheard that my school hasn't closed since 1971...I may have to check into that, but if last week's actions were any indication, I'm willing to believe that to be the case. My English class would probably be the only one to cancel...it was last Tuesday when we had around 6 inches or so...but hey, one less class.

Well, off to bed to see what winter wonderland tomorrow will bring.

Hey Zoo, I have to say, better me than you. At the moment, we've just had a good down pour of rain (and man, did we need it - this drought has gone on way too long). But the temperature is still a nice 24 degrees celsius or about 72 degrees where you're from. Lovely...

Should have gone to an urban college.  They close all the time due to snow and ice.

You'll be glad not to be in southern Ontario.

At least 50 centimeters expected over the next two days. Lets see, that's 50 / 2.54 = almost 20 inches. Yah probably a snow day around here tomorrow.

Just be happy you aren't in upstate NY. You'd be buried under 11 feet of the stuff.

Just be happy you're not in Mississippi.

It's not snowing or anything there, just be glad you're not there.

Heh...I'm alright with this stuff...classes after 4 are cancelled. Which means 2 of them are and I have calc at 3, but I'll just skip it because there's no homework or quizzes to do...and for some odd reason I've got an A in the class.

Why you young whipper snapper! When I was your age, we walked to class snf back. 5 miles each way! In the snow that was waist deep! Uphill! Both ways!

* schools cancelled; the walk-in clinic will likely be closed too. I could use the mental rest. Wish I were a skier, there's snow everywhere. People will be riding their skidoos down the streets tomorrow, flouting the law. Oh well, snow day.

Whenever we've been to Florida on vacation, the first thing we've always done, waking up in our hotel room every morning, is to tune in to the weather channel and see what the weather was like back home. It added pleasure to our stay.

After about a week in your neck of the woods I'd be thinking, why the f**k don't I live here. Then eventually, I'd resign myself to going back home to extended family and friends. That's what makes home home, I guess.

Enjoy. There can't be a "heaven" without a "hell".
