On the way. It is in Wakefield about 45 minutes before you hit Franklin. |
Ah ok. I'm in Emporia now. The guy in Franklin bitched from the second I rolled in to the second I left and was probably still bitching after that.
Why, you ask? Let me count the ways...
1. The die was loaded on a step deck instead of in a van trailer or even a flat bed. Either of which would have reached his dock. A step deck is too low for his dock.
2. Consequently he had to call for a crane to unload it (which is how most people do it anyway).
3. The die had some rust streaks on it. Naturally it was my fault. The fact that that it was shrink wrapped, covered with plastic sheeting, and then tarped didn't seem to matter. It was still somehow my fault.
4. The chains used to secure it to the deck left scratches on the steel. I explained to him that the chains were placed exactly where the manufacturer said to place them so as to not cause any damage to the actual functional parts of the die.
Once it was unloaded and he had marked the paperwork with his complaints, and I had marked it with the facts of the situation, he was still bitching. I told him next time he orders a die he should drive up to WI and pick the damn thing up himself. Have a nice day.
Asshole.
