Bush was completely and totally out of line to ask about his son in "small talk" at this function. Being from the social elite, he should have been well aware of the mistake he was making (particularly when his own two charming daughters are making a spectacle of themselves in South America). Senator-elect Webb handled the situation (from everything I've read) as Miss Manners would have recommended.

How many of the ads did you see/hear?  He may have 100 ads, but if 99 of them never ran or ran once, and the other one ran 1000 times, it makes a big difference now doesn't it?  For it is the quantity of the ads - not the diversity - that the voters saw/heard during the campaign.  So when I say almost every one, maybe I should new speak and say "almost everyone aired" since that is where 99.9% of the voters hear and see them.

The simple truth is, it would have taken nothing for Webb to politly respond, He is doing the best he can under such situation.

i have the utmost confidence those willing to invest a few minutes checking out all 9 of webb's ads will easily be able to determine for themselves whether webb did or didn't (as you claim) make "his sons service a part of almost every campaign commercial."
