I think the change is 100% retarded.
#1 reason: I don't like nerfs

. (Yes, I suppose you could argue that it isn't a nerf, rather a rebalancing of the 'over-abundant' bonuses--but I would heartily disagree.)
#2 reason: I have a hard enough time finding a corresponding man. + res. planet to put my uber Civ.-wide man. + res. wonders on. If the bonuses are now REDUCED significantly, I'm extremely upset for the simple reason that I love UBER man. + res. planets.
I had this one planet on my FIRST game (huge, tough difficulty, 6-7 opponents) that had OVER 1000 research points...LOLOL. I had a default +53% res. bonus (b/c I was evil to that planet and I inserted pods or something into my population...lol), it was a really large planet, it had one triple bonus research square, and I had like 8 economy starbases fully upgraded boosting it's res output, AND I had the UBER +100 (or 50%..I forgot) planet research Civ-wide bonus thingy. -----------The point is that if that triple research thingy wasn't there, it wouldn't have been as 'awesome'. I love those squares...and anything that nerfs them will suck.
#3 reason: I need those squares when I'm playing against computer opponents, b/c I have planets 'specialize' in different things depending on their bonuses, size, and location. If those bonuses are removed, it takes a lot more 'sizeable' planets to make a uber man. planet or res. planet. WTF. I'm really angry.
#4 reason (and the best): do what one of the MOO's did PLEASE. NERF THE BONUSES ALL YOU WANT, BUT MAKE LIKE 1/4th OF THE PLANETS HAVE SPECIAL USEFUL (unlike certain 'moral' decision game mechanics that randomize a number that is often USELESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!) INNATE BONUSES THAT ARE PLANET WIDE (APPLICABLE TO ALL THE SQUARES).
EXAMPLES:
--Abandoned Uber Intelligent AI generator deep below the surface that loves inventing things: +100% to all research on that planet. RARE
--A superior intelligent strangler inhabits the world and tutors your planet in the ways of Xen. +100% to all research and manufacturing and morale improvements. A required 20+ square planet for this to appear [to make it useful]. VERYVERY RARE.
--Small intelligent Antlike creatures named the Klanktons have appeared from below. They want to help your civilization rule the galaxy. +100% to all manufacturing for this planet. RARE
--A prodigy genius has been discovered in the troop ship. He helps the colony become more productive by using better methods. +25% to all manufacturing for this planet. LESS RARE
--A rare deposit of ore has been discovered that helps fuel energy reactors. +25% to all manufacturing for this planet. LESS RARE
--A small wormhole has opened a unique communication path to another dimension. The species on the other end of the 'line' has phoned you and has started sending you random pictures and diagrams... Some are useful. +25% to all research for this planet. LESS RARE
--The transport's computer has hijacked itself and has become independent of the Civ-Wide computer grid just as the transport landed. It has taken control of the transport's operations and has been kind to the colonists. After offloading everything like it was supposed to do, it has locked itself inside a cave and sometimes sends out detailed information that helps the researchers (it has become obvious that the transport has hacked into the colonist's computer system through a undetectable client-side bug.) +25% to all research for this planet. LESS RARE
ETCETCETC. seriously. Why are the developers NERFING things that help players specialize the planets into certain catagories. That's really stupid and annoying. Look at Civilization I-IV. ... They have coal and diamonds and all kinds of stuff. Add more stuff like that. And don't nerf the really fast ships..WOWOW. How are my planets that are on one side of the galaxy supposed to send JIT support to the other side of the galaxy (huge)? Seriously.

. I'm really unhappy about nerfs.
