Michael Jackson

What will he be remembered for....?

Ahh, where to start todays blog, today is one of them days where I've got loads of cauliflowers (lots of things on my mind!), and If I was too talk about them, I'd be just waffling on about things that don't make much sense, nothing new there huh! Though no doubt I shall touch on them subjects as I go on! However, I've decided to dedicate the majority of this blog to something less significant and that would be Michael Jackson. Not that I'm saying he's insignificant, I'm sure to alot of people he's very significant, but compared to the day to day things that are going on he doesn't rate very high on the importance scale, which is kind of a contradiction as I'm dedicating this blog to him, hehe, ahh well .

If I was to say I was a huge MJ fan, I'd be lying. I'm not, the guy freaks me out, but in my mind there is no doubt of his musical abilities, they are just out of this world. Yesterday I decided to listen to some of his songs. I don't know why but I go through these phases with music, where I hunt out all my old songs and have a listen. Last week it was Take That! I am ashamed to admit it, but during my youth I was one of them girls in luv with Take that, especially the very cute Mark Owen, ahh how times change, at that time I thought the sun shone out of their arses and re-listening to their songs, which thinking about it I actually shouldn't even admit to owning, it did bring back those nice memories of when I was alot more innocent about things, it's true what they say, ignorance is bliss. So anyway, as I was saying before I interupted myself, I listened to some of the MJ classics, my fave song of all time has to be Billie Jean, what a fab song. All (most) of his songs have that something special about them, timeless classics. MJ is a perfect example of genius turning to madness, and it's a shame because I wonder if in years to come when my kids (not that I have any) have kids, will Mj be remembered for the brilliant songs he produced, or will he be remembered as the black guy, who turned white, had a taste for to much plastic surgery, and an even bigger taste for young boys. When I told my friend I'd spent the afternoon appreciating MJ, they immediately made a crude comment about young boys, not a comment on the great songs MJ did, and I think that's really sad......

Not that I want to get into the allegations against MJ. I really don't, I just want to appreciate his music. If he did them awful things, and the chances are high that he was doing something that wasn't quite right, then no matter how much the guy is worth, he deserves to get everything that's coming to him, but for now I'll just sit back, listen to his music, and appreciate the musical talent that is Michael Jackson.

Moving on from MJ, back to my cauliflowers, I've not being sleeping well. If I'm honest I've never been the best of sleepers. I'm able to manage on a few hours sleep a night, about five on average and I could just about deal with that. Now though I'm lucky to get five hours, I'm averaging about three, grrrr. So to make up for this lack of sleep during the night I've started to have naps in the afternoon, now I know what you're thinking, this will be why she can't sleep at night, but even if I don't have my afternoon nap and I cut them out for about two weeks, I was still going to bed very late and getting up far to early. I think it's a mixture of alot of different things that are on my mind, and they all just keep going around my head trying to find solutions, on top of that I look after Maddy Mae a few times a week, and the kid hardly sleeps, well she does, just not at the times I want to, grrr, good job she cute. I think though I'd like to blame kermit, not for any particular reason, I just think you can have full blame for this one sweety .

Speaking of kermit, brief note, not spoke to him properly for a few days, REALLY missing him, can't wait to have one of our talks where we have no idea what we've spent the last few hours talking about, I'm proud he's being productive though. If little to none of this article makes sense I blame my lack of sleep and my cauliflowers, not the fact I enjoy to waffle about senseless crap! Though I do, hehe. Bye bye folks xxxxx

Sally~I have terrible insomnia~so I can relate to what you say here big time. In fact, one of the really big reasons I starting blogging on JU is because I keep waking up during the wee hours, and end up going online again. Then I just blog and leave comments until I can't keep my eyes open anymore, etc.

About MJ. It is a popular thing to bash him right now (I don't mean you~you were very kind). But I think you are right? He is a genius that stepped over the borderline? He just keeps doing all this really weird stuff~it never seems to stop. And I used to think it was for publicity reasons? But now I'm starting to think that he is in need of some MAJOR therapy big time. So yeah, it is kind of sad. But more than likely he will still be remembered for his brilliant music by future generations. Because he opened the door for so many folks, then sadly slammed it in our faces. Very nice writing! I like your writing voice. You don't sound especially tired or sleepy at all! Very clever and energetic. Thanks for sharing...

Madpoet, thanks for your comments, I read your blog on Anne Frank, it was a simple story with an important message, and you put it across in a great way! I never really considered the publicity reasons, you have a fair point with that, but I'm really not sure ALL publicity is good publicity, especially when it seems to suggest he's so damn insane! Hehe. I hope you're right though, I hope he's remembered for his great influence on the music industry. Oh and Happy Birthday, hope you have a good one

Point here being that he should have got the therapy at a much earlier stage than now.... it may already be too late.

I agree that he's in posession of immeasurable talent... a truly gifted (albiet very, very strange) individual.
My opinion of the allegations made against him is reserved for a later date and time, when there is proof one way or the other.
One has to remember that sensationalism not only sells newspapers and magazines, but will also bring with it the people who jump onto the bandwagon without fully knowing the facts of the event/s. I will not be one of these people.
I am old enough to have seen Michael Jackson as a child prodigy when he was with the Jackson 5... and the talent was already there, back then.

Hope you can get the sleep patterns back on track Sally..... I suffer insomnia, and do shifts at work. Every opportunity I get, I'll take an afternoon nap... I call 'em my Grampa naps. They do really well in recharging the batteries, even if you only get half an hour or so.
Never overlook the powernap.

Wreckless, I did try to avoid making an opinion on the allegations, I agree judgement should be reserved for a later time and date. Though it is obvious that things are very wrong with him, to much, to soon. He was so young, and getting so much attention, no wonder it went to his head, at least people seem to still appreciate his talent!

I love my naps if I'm honest, but I can't help to feel guilty for them, but when I do have them, Mmmmm they are lovely .
