I am in the middle of a great game, in a huge galaxy on Normal difficulty. I am the top empire, but two others aren't far behind. I feel as though victory is assured at this point, but I don't want it to be--the game just started getting really interesting. I just want to make the AI more challenging, so that the game's ending isn't a foregone conclusion. I don't want to have to start a new game, either, since it took so long for me to get where I am now.
Can I change the AI difficulty in mid-game, and how? I am not logged in for the metaverse, so I don't care about "score".
