I have little quirks. Everyone does. And though mine aren't all that unusual, they are sometimes funny, and for some odd reason, I feel like sharing some of them. (The ones that I am aware of.)
1- If I have a plate of food, say carrots, mashed potatoes, and fried chicken, I can only have small portions. Why? Because none of my food can touch another type of food. So of the chicken ends up with a little bit of mashed potatoes on them, I wont eat it. I have heard that this is a tendancy of an anorexic, but since I have weighed about the same since I was 13, (with two exceptions, one being pregnancy, and one being depression/sickness) I don't worry too much.
2- I have to have everything balanced, or symmetrical. My room is a perfect example. I have a desk oppisite a dresser, and a window in between, with my bed at the bottom to balance.
3- I couldn't live without files. I even have a filing cabinent in my bedroom for my bills, and paperwork like passport info, cell phone contracts, etc. On my computer, I have a folder for everything. I have My documents, then inside that is Office info, then inside that is personal office info (instructions and such). It drives me nuts when someone has everything all bunched together inside of a folder.
4- Lists are a hobby. I'm hopeless. I love making lists. Everything from a shopping list, to a budget list, to a packing list... you name it. The only problem is that I don't always follow the list, especially the budgets.
5- I go on genre binges when I am reading. For the past year or so, my only interest in books were fictional FBI, or mysteries. That is all I would read. Forget the philosophy, fantasy, romance. It was mystery. I am slowly getting out of that, and getting into Medieval type genres.
6- I hate money. Actually I hate saving money. There is always something better I can use it for, whether it's buying someone lunch, or just giving money, or buying gas, or books or anything. I know that saving for the future is important, but... but... but... I hate it.
7- I hate people that ignore me. I don't just hate what they do, if they ignore me, it causes me to hate them as people. If you respect me enough to even give me a one word response, then guess what... I hate you. (It's shallow, and drama queenish, but it's true)
8- I love making tea. I like drinking it, but when I am upset, the process of making the tea calms me down; putting on the water, waiting for it to boil, dunking the tea bag, pouring milk and sugar into it, it calms me.
9- I love rap music. I can't stand the swearing, but the beat of the bass in my car... I love it! It's funny to watch people's reactions as a Buick was an extremely good (and annoying to most) bass pulls up along side them. They never expect the Buicks.
10- I want to shoot people that drive slower than me. If I was allowed to do this, the world would be down to Population: 90. All though this isn't a quirk, it is true.
11- I love messing with cops. That doesn't sound exactly right, but I don't know what else to call it. If a highway patrol is sitting at the side of the road, I don't slow down. I don't get pulled over. Why? My theory is that they think I'm an old lady, and they figure they will let me have my fun in my last days. I also find it amusing to follow cops when they race around without their lights on. I have maxed out at 90 following an off-patrol cop (I knew this because it was a city cop that wasn't in his city). It's really funny to watch everyone slam on their breaks, so the cop passes them, and me on his tail.
I'm crazy. I'm normal. I have my bizarre ways...
So do you.
What are yours?
