James Garner had to sue the "publishers" of "The rockford Files" for his share of the profits as he was supposed to get royalties. He got diddly, or very little.
According to the title holders of "The Rockford Files" it still hadn't made any profit. Must have had a lot of cost overruns.
At the time of the suit the show had been on for many, many years and there never was a time when some channel or other didn't carry daily reruns in my area but still, on paper, there were no profits.
