Hi
I have a Windows 11 Pro self-build PC
OS: 23H” (22631.4602)
MB: ASUS ROG Maximus XIII Hero
CPU: i11700K
RAM: 64GB (2x 32GB)
Storage: SN850X 4TB SSDs
GPU: Zotac 3060 Ti Twin Edge OC LHR (Nvidia)
I have uninstalled | Rebooted | reinstalled at least five times 4.0.0.2 x3 and today 4.0.0.4 x2
Following installation, the program appears to start ready to instigate the connection to another PC. I ended up rebooting and then no longer had access to the program.
On the fifth install I had the correct settings to connect to my laptop, so I was able to configure the settings with the program open after the initial install. I had seamless and KVM configured and working. I then rebooted the PC.
The program shortcut points to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Multiplicity\MultiplicityConfig.exe
This appears to be a config/setup file which might explain why it is trying to configure the Netgear smart switch software SmartControlCenter.
So, when I try to start Multiplicity 4, it tries to configure Netgear Smart Control Center. When I right click the direct icon and choose to run in Admin mode it opens. However, despite it passing seamless and KVM connection tests, when I try to connect the KVM I get an unknown error (3).
In summary:
- The connection is made on initial setup without being in admin mode
- This is for both seamless and KVM function
- After reboot the program tries to configure the Netgear Control Center
- Right clicking the program icon and choosing to start in Admin mode allows the program interface to launch
- Seamless and KVM test connections are successful
- Seamless doesn’t work
- KVM opens a connection window and tries to connect but then stops with the unknown error 3
Prior to today explorer.exe was happening as a direct result of trying to load the program. This behaviour is different today and appears to happen randomly with Multiplicity 4 loaded at start up.
