bigunit7, the lone point I have made thus far here is that all software versions have a beginning, middle, and an end no matter who develops them - Fences 2 has seen that complete life cycle.
If you want to keep working on your issue, I am more than willing to offer assistance - it just has to be with Fences 3.

Fences sluggish animations
Can you help qualify that - define 'sluggish' to you and compared to what? What acts on the Desktop are impacted and to what degree?
I have a lot of icons.
What is 'a lot'? While it does not list everything on the desktop, going into the Desktop folder in WinExp will report roughly how many:
