I picked up Multiplicity hoping to be able to use my main desktop to do work on my work laptop, but my work laptop blocks steam via McAfee. So I believe I have two issues, one which I can circumvent... kind of.
1) Simply running steam. Because it's blocked by the firewall, steam doesn't stay logged in, or sometimes cannot even login at all. So if I try to use multiplicity (specifically as a primary) it cannot authenticate with steam. So I can slightly circumvent by running windows in safe mode with networking. I can do that then authenticate my install, which is how I installed it in the first place, but I'm not sure if multiplicity is going to ask to authenticate every time I try to use it. If it's not going to when it's set as secondary then great and this point is completely moot, but point 2 is where everything falls apart.
2) I believe because it's using steam to try to connect machines, it's being blocked by McAfee again. Otherwise, maybe the ports are blocked, and I don't know how to change the ports that Multiplicity uses. I can't seem to find any documentation on it.
Hoping someone can help. It surprises me that the application NEEDS to be installed, and used with steam. Would've thought there would be a standalone.
