There is a reason we’re called the “Rome of the West" by some historians.
I cut off an internet friend yesterday. She used to blog here. She just spouted total ignorance, and ranted about how ignorant other people appear.
We disagree on some fundamental levels. I could overlook that if she were a coherent person. But it's like talking to a 4 year old that believes, BELIEVES!! Santa is real and he's "cool."
And I'm all about cutting that sort of frustration out of my life.
I find it HIGHLY ironic that my Democrat uneducated acquaintances feel it is the more educated party. And with a few of those cases, I know they believe the association somehow makes them appear smarter. As if by skipping college they can still get the same intellectual respect by signing onto the platform.
Instead of say, becoming a master of their field. Researching topics and finding their very own points of view, their own expertise.
That's too much work.
And doesn't back up what they want to believe.
Most of my Dem friends have no children (or 1), are college educated, and frankly clueless about what I term, big-picture America. All they care about is their little slice of it, and pet issues like abortion, animal rights, etc. Not our standing in the world. Not even really our national defense.
Most of them are young, and since I was where they are once, I can accept it as part of the growing process. Some people get stunted in it though.
The older Dems in my life, tend to be associated with academia.
